Let me first state my case.
I received a credit card from capital one, didn't pay it and then sent to collections threw a collections agency. I got taken to court and a gudgement was filed against me to pay. I did pay for about 8 months the payment required this past JAN 26 I paid the rest of my balance in ful ( in hopes of fixing credit and buying a house to jump on first time buyers credit) so then to get the ball rolling on my credit fixing I disbuited all the credit bu eras that the balance was 0. the collection company and capital one was on my credit report Now just capital one is on there STILL owing a partial amount. I call capital one to see what's going on they says On the date I paid the full amount to the collection agency that the collection agency says I only paid the bare minimum so then I call the agency they says they will fix the problem but can't give a date on when they will tell the court that I have paid in full and that I no longer have this debt. So my all around question is ISN'T THERE SOME KIND OF LAW that within a certain time of paying a debt it has to be reflected that way on your credit report. Such as fair trade or the fair debt collecting act ( I know that's not the proper name but its something along those lines)
Please any help would be appreciated even if it was something I could bluff with saying if this isn't handled in a timely matter I will contact " so and so " thank you.
