I have a Carrier 58RAV forced air gas furnace. For the past year + I have noticed a hot electrical smell in our home when the furnace runs for a long stretch. I found the blower motor was running cool, but the induced draft motor was very hot to the touch (would burn flesh if you touched it too long). I replaced the draft motor with a new identical one (Jakel Inc J238-150-1571) but it still runs very hot. The motor spins freely for at least a minute after it shuts down and cycles on and off at the right times.

Why is it overheating?
