Dear Sir, I am in US since last eight years and I e-filed tax last year as US resident alien. I got married in Aug. 09 and she joined me in US in Nov.09 on H-4 visa. She do not qualify for social security number. I am e-filing tax now as change status from single to married and it is asking for spouse details such as name and SSN, What should I do. Also she does not have first name and her complete name is her last name and long. In her US Visa, first name is shown as FNU(first name unknown) and last name as a complete name. Should I follow the same in my tax return. Kindly suggest thanks

File joint return as residents. Attach W-7 (ITIN application) for your spouse with your tax return. File paper return.
You must both report worldwide income for 2009.
