I have a 2003 F250 6.0 powerstroke diesel and I am now having charging problems. When it first starting having this problem I replaced the alternator. It fixed it for about 6mths. I have now started having problems again. I bought a brand new alternator and put it on the truck and the intrusment panel still does not work and the alternator will not charge or come on. The batteries will not stay charged or anything. Please help me figure out what is wrong with this truck. Thanks

There shouldn't be too many wires on the alternator. But the 2 important ones are "Field" and "Battery". The best thing you can do is have both the Alternator and Battery tested. If both are fine then look at your wiring. Make sure all connections are plugged in etc. Also make sure you have a good ground. Check alternator output with a seprate gauge and see what its putting out.

It sounds like the ignition switch may be bad, if the gauges on the instrument panel don't light light up. Your alternator is likely fine.
