Which divorced parent is eligible to take tax credit when both contribute equaly

The custodial parent ( the one with custody from the child custody by the court) And the one who is allowed to claim the child as a dependent by that written agreement.

If there is no mention, then the custody parent always claims. But many agreements allow every other year
