My question is about this scientific news "An asteroid wiped out the dinosaurs". I am not interested in dinosaurs, what interests me is whether such a big event as an Asteroid hitting the earth has really happened or not, if it has happened there is maybe a mention of that in Quran, obviously we know that Quran has been to all those discoveries before us human.

As the Quran was written by MAN and we didn't appear on this planet until way AFTER this event, how do you propose that this event would be mention in it ?

I have not seen any word that directly says dinosaurs or that asteroids wiped them out.

"Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth; in the alternation of the night and the day; in the sailing of the ships through the ocean for the profit of mankind; in the rain which God Sends down from the skies, and the life which He gives therewith to an earth that is dead; in the beasts of all kinds that He scatters through the earth; in the change of the winds, and the clouds which they Trail like their slaves between the sky and the earth;- (Here) indeed are Signs for a people that are wise. (The Noble Quran, 2:164)"

"He created the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; He set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you; and He scattered through it beasts of all kinds. We send down rain from the sky, and produce on the earth every kind of noble creature, in pairs. (The Noble Quran, 31:10)"


The Quran does indeed mention stones raining down from heaven.
"Remember how they said: "O Allah if this is indeed the Truth from Thee, rain down on us a shower of stones form the sky, or send us a grievous penalty." (The Noble Quran, 8:32)

"When Our Decree issued, We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay, spread, layer on layer,- "(The Noble Quran, 11:82 )

And also...
"Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was not a thing worth mentioning"(Quran 76:1 )


The important thing is that our faith does not change by the fact that dinosaurs existed or not, our faith is that we believe all and any living creature that has been on earth or will be on earth in the future is from the One Creator and unto him is our return.
