I live in Indiana and my daughter's friend who is 18 wants to live with me instead of her father because of the arguing every day. Her father and mother adopted her when she was a baby. And now her adopted parents are getting a divorce and she doesn't get along with her adopted mother. I would like to help out but I don't want to get into trouble with the law. And Indiana isn't my home state, I am originally from Ohio so I am unsure about the laws here in Indiana... Please at least direct me in the right direction so I can find out more before I make such a step as this... Thank you.

If she's 18, she can live wherever she wants. The law can't stop her from moving out of her parents' house and into your's.

At 18 she is an adult and can move where ever she pleases (provided she can pay the rent obviously like any other adult). So there is nothing stopping you or her from her moving into your home if the two of you are in agreement.
