How do I balance this eqation.

Fe(NO3)3 + NH3 +H2O --> Fe(OH)3 + NH4NO3

If you could help that would be great :)

Also I have a question. For the problem I just gave you for example, how do I know if the 3 at the very end belongs to the N and the O or just the O. I think it belongs only to the O but I just want to make sure.

Thank you for posting your question to the Ask Me Help Desk.

I would recommend starting the balancing process with the most complex substance.

That means, in this case, trying to balance the Iron (III) Nitrate first.

Sometimes by balancing the elements within the most complex of substances in the equation we "accidentally" balance the others or at least make the rest of the balancing process more apparent.

If you are referring to the 3 at the end of the Ammonium Nitrate, you are correct, it belongs only to the Oxygen.

Let me know what you come up with.
