Hiya - this is my first post on this site, so Im not quite sure what Im doing

I really like this girl at my school, and although I have got mixed signals for a while, I am now pretty certain she likes me too. Although Im pretty popular at school (in Year 11) I have never really been good with girls, so I don't have much confidence. My problem here is that although I really like this girl, all my friends don't - she isn't very popular. She just invited me to a party, but Im really not sure whether to go. Although it might seem kind of shallow, Im worried that if I go my classmates will take the piss out of me loads, and Im not sure I can take it. If I don't go then she will probably think that Im not interested, and Im too shy to approach her alone at school instead. I would really appreciate some help, thank you.

No kidding. I can't imagine how a guy that truly likes a gal would wuss out of an opportunity to be with her, especially when SHE ASKED HIM! Go play with your friends, there will probably be plenty of other guys at the party to keep her company.

Why are you so worried of what your friends think? I mean c'mon you're a junior right? Who cares about what people say, high school will be high school no matter what. If you like her take the chance, and if you don't what if she finds someone else at that party when you could have been there?

Go to the party if you like her your friends should understand.just because she's unpopular doesn't mean you and your friends shouldn't give her a chance. If there is a spark between you 2 and your friends get to know her better they'll probably give her a break... also if they're going to give you crap about this just tell them to F*** off(sorry but still) because you like her and can do what you want.
