This is a Maytag French door model with freezer on bottom. Model # MFD2561HEW. This morning, the fridge temp was registering 60 degrees. Freezer was at 0 degrees. Verified with analog thermometers check on the digital readouts of the fridge were reading correctly. And they same pretty much the same temp on those. Right now all the food is out of the fridge part.

I am going to check on a few things when I get home from other forums that have suggested to figure out what isn't working
1. Check if there is a frost built up on the back wall in the freezer
2. Measure the temperature in the freezer, and fridge
3. Check if the fan inside the freezer compartment is running - Fan with motor located inside the freezer compartment behind racks
4. Check if the cold air is coming out of vents inside the fresh food compartment. Located at center top back wall of fridge
5. Check to make sure back paneling on fridge is not pressing against Fan down in freezer compartment

Possible issues that have been\or could be the issue that I have learned and will check on:
1. Bad dampener control - The damper control operates the air flow from the freezer to the fresh food compartment
2. Bad dampener harness - MayTag recommends replacing this along with dampner control
3. Back panel on fridge pressing against fan.
4. Defrost timer
5. Main circuit board
6. Cooling system is low on Freon

Last night, I am pretty sure what the issue is. After removing the vent covers over the dampner and the dampner fan departments. When the dampner opens up inside the fridge the dampner fan was not kicking on. Reaching in and touching the fan, it was trying to start. It was vibrating, I manually spun it and it began to spin up but what seemed not fast enough to push any air up the channel to the fridge. If I touched it, it would just stop. I am pretty sure that this dampner fan should be spinning at a lot higher RPM's then what I am seeing here. If this seems correct in my assumption here or if there is something else I should be checking let me know.

Having the same problem, and the fan part is discontinued. I was sent another one and it doesn't match; not sure how to make it fit.
