View Full Version : I need the volume, perimeter, and area of my classroom!

OK! I'm only in grade 6, but, today we did math centers and we measured the class by height, length, and width. But I for get how to get the volume perimeter, and area. So please help me!

Height - 2.25 m

Length - 7.6 m

Width - 9.9 m

So please help because my teacher told me to do this and I have no clue how to do it!help! :confused::confused::confused::confused:

Volume is a solid, so that one is easy. Define the solid from those measurements.

Area is a tough one. You have a cube and therefore 6 sides in which you can find the area of. Since it's a cube, 3 areas are the same. One could ASSUME that the area wanted in the floor or one could assume the area of the cube or each wall, ceiling and floor. If one were tiling, one might need the floor area. If one were painting you would need other area. Draw a picure. There will be six fundamental areas. Draw a picture.

Perimiter is a problem too. Is the perimiter of the floor, the walls, or the cube.
