I have a 6yr old male Jack Russell and he has not been eating properly but a few mouthfuls of tidbits he is slowly drinking water and he is losing weight, he chewed his bedding also a sponge he found there were no cleaning chemicals on the sponge. Somebody told me that he is this way because we live nextdoor to es and they could be in heat is this what is happening to him. My husband and I are very concerned for our dog.

Well if the females next door are in heat, then that could be part of the reason for his restlesness. Is he neutered? Is he drinking normally. What does his stool look like? How long has he not been eating? Try wetting some of his hard dog food with water, and see if he will try that. When is the last time his teeth were cleaned? When is the last time he was in to see a vet? Up to date with vaccines and de wormers?

Your jack russel just needs to be checked by a vet!!
If he doesn't have an infection then he needs a urine sample and blood test.
There are a whole load of causes of the symptoms you have described, so you will not find the answer without an examination.

My dog once jumped up and grabbed a sponge off the kitchen counter. I quickly shoved my hand in his mouth but was unable to get the entire sponge. The vet induced vomiting and kept him over night piecing together the sponge like a puzzle until they were sure they had it all before it went into his intestines.
It seemed to me sponges were bad.
