I have a 1993 Buick Lesabre that runs perfectly went to drive home and came to a stop light and was waiting for green light to go and than car would not move. Still runs but when you shift to any gear doesn't move but will stay parked when in park. Car is not leaking any transmission fluid and is full no smoking car not wet on the inside or nothing. Gears will move to reverse, drive, low drive but nothing happens.

Does it act like it is in nuetral all the time? If so depending on miles it may be the transmission pump. Your automatic transmission works on pressure and if the pressure drops nothing engauges. Id look there first.

Are you sure the shift linkage is connected on the tranny?

Okay thank you very much. I'm having a new filter put on and gasket today another guy thinks that the filter is clogged and if so he said that the transmission fluid would not flow through car and make car not recognize in gears. I will let him know what you said today just to look at it why we are doing the other things also. Thank you again!
