1994 Mazda miata abs light stays on sometimes. When it does, wipers and AC Won't work.
Also, car will not start sometimes. Less than 75,000 miles. I just turned ignition 4 times. Nothing happened. I waited a few seconds and turned ignition and it started fine. I have replaced the start switch attached to the clutch (about 20,000 miles back).

Last night car would not start so I pushed it by hand and started it. The ABS brake light was stuck on. I drove about 10 minutes and light went out. Car started when light went out.
Anyone have suggestions. My mechanic said he could not fix it unless it was not working. When I have taken it to be checked, it works.

Thoughts:

. The ABS light staying on may indicate the ECM is intermittently failing. It could also indicate the VSS is failing.

. Check/replace the Ignition Control Module.

Turn the ignition switch to run. You should hear the fuel pump run. If not, check the fuel pump relay and fuse. ABS light also comes on with ignition then go off when you start the car. If the abs doesn't turn off then it might be a faulty sensor.

Just a follow up on the Miata... my ignition switch was bad... had it replaced and it works fine.
