My father was born in ecuador in the 60's and came to the states when he was young. When I was born he was in prison and my mother didn't put him on my birth cirtificate. Since then he has been deported to ecuador and I want to get his last name on my birth cirtificate.what do I do? I'm 22 and I have all the recorces here in the usa, please point me in the right direction so I could know what steps to take next. I want his last name

You can petition the courts to put his name on it and your going to have to prove he is the father through DNA. Is he still alive? Can he return to the U.S.
