I am stuck in a runt. I did not file taxes for the past several years. I would like to know if there is a way of obtaining my w-2 information without requesting it through the employer. My check is written by the (payer) American Red Cross to the (payee) Los Alamitos Medical Center forwarding to me in the "note" area states my name. I don't recall if I'm a contract worker or not. I tried contacting the IRS for some information but they do not have me on file because I never filed my income tax before. They suggested I contact social security administration, but I have not heard back from them. Any suggestions on how to obtain the w-2? Thanks

Call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 and as for your tax transcripts for 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Get the same transcript from your state tax department.

All of the W-2 information will be contained in those transcripts.

Since, you have never filed a US tax return, you're correct the IRS phone representatives won't send you a transcript over the phone, because they don't have any information to verify against you.

In order for you to obtain your transcript of Forms W-2, you'll have to make the request on a form called a 4506T, downloadable from the IRS website. Mail or fax it, at the address indicated on the form. To obtain the form type, "4506T", in the IRS search box on their website.

You were not being paid a paycheck, so no taxes are being held out, no social secuity being paid. Most likely no workers comp and no uemployment insurace.

It sounds like you are a Independent Contractor, you need to discuss this with your Human Resourse department.

They are still required to give you documents of the money given, so they have to provide this to you
