Dear Txgreasemonkey,
How do you send private emails? I have a 3.8 v6 2003 mustang. I had the camshaft synchronizer replaced with a Dorman part. It ran great for 2 weeks or so. Christmas day coming back from Cleveland Ga my car started missing under load and it may be called hiccuping. Finally a check engine light came on. It later was found to be cylinder 3. My brother replaced the spark plugs because of the tight area and it ran great except a very tiny miss up a hill not real bad maybe one or two. I took it to a friend's house and looked under the hood. Blue was coming out of one wire every 15 seconds or so. I changed the wires to Omnispark Oreilly's brand. Missed bad. I bought Motorcraft and it looked like a blue light show. Ran good at first for a few miles then started missing. I bought Autolite from Advance and it ran good for a little bit went haywire missing. Sometimes it would run on the other wires for 3 days with little miss or none. I went outside and did a soapy water solution twice at different times and the car idled down which I have heard that is because the wires are bad. The strange issue is it ran bad for 7 days or so and when I put the water on the wires and the coil it quit missing. No doubt conincidence. I only see some blue on two wires slightly on the Autolite wires. I have been told the coil could be bad and putting too much spark out and destroying wires. I have 118,000 miles on the 3.8 v6. I wondered if the camshaft synchronizer could have not been taken out right possibly top dead center or marked and put in wrong would it do this. The only thing is the problem started at cylinder 3 and it ran great when the plugs were changed with that little miss on a load. My brother checked for hairline cracks on the plugs. Thank you for your help and may God continually to bless you as you press toward the mark of the high calling of Christ,
Chris Reynolds.
