Hi, Apparently I have an outstanding amount owing to a Zeller's CC going back to 2003. I ordered a copy of my credit report and received it today. Zeller's is still on the credit report and they have sent it to a collection agency who has been calling me. I have been threatened to be taken to court and have to pay all their court costs as well as my own if I don't pay them. I have received nothing in writing, just the phone calls. They want $100 by online banking by Friday and 6 postdated cheques sent to their office by express post to arrive by Friday. I have emailed them requesting to be contacted by email or canada post only and to receive the paperwork in writing. So far I have received no response to my email I sent the Collection Agency this morning. Can they still take me to court if the statute of limitations is past the 6 years and am I within my rights asking for paperwork being sent to me before I send them any monies?

This is a normal tractic of collection agencies. They can't take money from you without a judgment. I would have no further contact with them.

Thank you for your quick response.
So they can't take me to court and garnish my wages any longer?
