Hi,

I have W-2 which has
box 12a - code- S - $ XXXX
box 13 -Retirement plan
box 14- CA-SDI $XXXX

I will be filing 1040NR or 1040NREZ. I am not sure where to report these values and what do they mean?
I also received form 5498 which is for SIMPLE IRA plan.

Box 12 code S is the amount you contributed to a 408(p) "SIMPLE" plan. This is for information only.

Box 13, "Retirement Plan" checked means you are covered by a plan at work, which means that your tax-deductible contributions to an individual IRA are subject to a lower AGI limit than it would be if you were not coveed by a retiirement plan.

Box 14 - CA SDI - is California State Disability Insurance - this amount is deductible as "state taxes" on Schedule A of your Form 1040.
