If you have filed for disability and have had 2 Dr appts with their Dr's and you just got your denial letter and now have a appt with a lawyer, can you or can you be made to go fill out 10 applications per week for work?

A judge is. I applied for unemployment after my boss closed his business. They granted me the unemployment and I received it for 7 mo. And then they stopped it because the employer denied it. I have child support to pay for one child of 61.00 per week and was paid up until my last unemployment check which was May, 09. She (ex-wife) has taken me to court for child support and we went on Tue. As of Tue, I was 2000.00 behind. I have had no income since May. The judge wouldn't even tell me explain and she didn't care if I filed, she said" Anybody can file, doesn't mean anything". She is making me either pay 61.00 a week or have 10 applications filed out per week. Can she do that with me already in progress with my disability? I have Chronic Back Pain due to injury in 99.

You are either disabled and not able to work

Or you have a partial disability and can do some work

Or you can work.

If you are able to do many jobs, first you are likely to loose any disability claim, And to claim and get unemployment you state each each week that you claim, that you are available and physcially able to work.

So you can't say you are disabled and can't work, in one court and then claim you are able to work in unemployment court.

When you see the attorney for your disability denial letter, ask him/her what you should do. As Chuck pointed out, either you are disabled or you are not.

Also, don't understand how the employer could stop your unemployment claim once it was filed and approved. I do know that the government now has gotten into an impasse about whether to extend unemployment benefits. This should be decided shortly in Congress. Your employer had nothing to do with stopping your unemployment! The government essentially stopped paying anything to anyone after the initial 26 weeks ran out. They are dithering whether to continue the Emergency extensions on unemployment.
