92 Ford Ranger

My tail lights remain on after the truck is turned off. I unhook the battery cable while truck is off?
I have a spare for parts but have no idea what I need (did switch the signal switchI) not the problem.

Did you check your brake switch? Are the lights dim or bright? If bright check brake switch if dim check headlamp switch for short.
