Ever since I remember I have felt an overwhelming presence, there are unexplainable shadows in photos of me as a child. When I was 10 an alarm clock radio started playing in the middle of the day, I unplugged it and went to leave my room and it flew towards me and hit my head, I was bruised but no one believed me they just said I must have dreamed it (I was definitely awake!) I have spoken to my father about this as he can sense spirits and has performed cleansings but he just says to ignore it (which isn't easy because it's so overwhelming) and he's also said that it's there when I need it (which scares my because it feels wrong, unless he is talking about a different thing.) If anyone has any similar experiences please share what you have found out. I need to know what to do to make it go without making things worse. I haven't been to church for many years because I found it to be hypocritical (the pastor was having an affair) but I do believe there is a god.

Hi Izzie,
I've noticed a number of questions like this on here since joining... I'd like to answer, and maybe provide a bit of help... but from a spiritual standpoint, and I do not mean a "ghost" standpoint...
First, I'm very sure you are not "being followed" by any spirits... I don't know your age, maybe the 1985 is your birthdate, but it really doesn't matter... the point is that we are all indoctrinated throughout our lives with stories and movies of the supernatural, ghosts, goblins, werewolves, dracula, all that stuff... and it greatly appeals to us, some more than others. Flying saucers... reported all the time... but if there's aliens hanging around us as is guessed... why would they travel trillions of miles just to play games and hide from us? This makes no sense. In like manner, if there were ghosts running around, playing games with us, why would they not make themselves known to us, over all the centuries we've populated this earth? What possible gain would there be to just continually harrass us, follow us around and toy with our emotions and fears? If these things existed, someone, somewhere would have bonefide photos, movies of interviews, SOMETHING, that would provide undoubtable proof to their existence... but there is nothing but an occasional report of someone 'experiencing' something that could not be readily explained.
You mentioned believing in God... that is absolutely super... you're totally right.. there IS a God, a one and only God... and He's by no means in the business of letting 'ghosts' harrass us, who are made in His image... He does not want us to go through life in fear, but in the very opposite. How ironic that you left church because some whacked out pastor had an affair... hmmmm... tell me, suppose you had red hair, and people thought everyone with red hair was crazy? Would that be fair to you? Hardly... the point is this... Please don't judge everyone who attends church, and is truly seeking God, to be hypocritical... yes, there's much of that in many churches, but we would be quite incorrect in considering everyone to be of the same caliber. Many pastors, preachers, priests and ministers have made some pretty sorry mistakes... just because someone becomes a minister, does not automatically make them impervious to 'sin' in their lives. I've read the Bible from cover to cover many times over the years... first, to try to find discrepencies, errors, contradictions... know what? There ARE none... and I looked real hard too... I wanted to prove to myself that that book was a fraud, made up by ultra-religious people trying to make others fit their agenda... I can tell you in total honesty, it is most definitely NOT a fake, not in any way... it is truly the inspired Word of God... and in that book, in numerous places, it states very clearly, that when we are in His Will, NOTHING can harm us...
Yes, there are most definitely 'spirits', both good and evil... huge number of references to them throughout the book, but if you would trust the Good Lord, there is no way any 'spirit' can lay hands on you. This is an absolute fact, but it is imperative that we have the Holy Spirit within us, and that can only come about when we accept Jesus as our Saviour... might sound a bit like science fiction, but its far from it. This is the way it has been for 2000 years... and just because we consider ourselves to be a very enlightened species, we are NOT smarter than the God that bought us into being in the first place.
In many instances in the New Testament, Jesus himself rebuked the 'spirits' to 'come out' of the person or persons they were harassing. HE has the final word... if you have Him in your own heart, you are not able to be overtaken by any outside entity. Its as simple as that. There is only room in our individual hearts for ONE spirit, either we chose Jesus, by way of the Holy Spirit, or we open ourselves up to whatever else happens by...
We live in a very complex world, and the secular world, which is mostly agnostic and athestic, would have us believe in mediums, palm reading, para-psychology, horoscopes, witches, warlocks and all that crazy stuff. God Himself tells us throughout His book that it is of utmost importance that we stay AWAY from all of that... and it's a piece of cake to do just that, we only need put our trust and faith in Him, and Him only... I would suggest you find a good, Bible-believing, faith-based church to attend. You will then be surrounded by those who can help you in your walk through life, the problems you'll encounter, just like this one you've written about. Sitting down with real people that are close to the Lord is FAR better than going to some online ask for help place like this one! But I'm trusting that you will take this to heart and seek spiritual help from the right places... because if you allow yourself to be dragged down the road of 'spiritual harrassment', its only going to get worse. Eventually everything that happens around you, you'll find some way to connect it to evil ghosts working towards your harm. Don't let that happen to you, you're in charge of your own life. Make the right decisions and let your dad see the incredible improvement in your own personal life. We only get one shot at this life.. . and is certainly was not designed to be one of grief and fear. I can assure you that the future's very bright for you when you follow the right path...
I'll be thinking of you... and take care..

Hello Izzie,
I really like what the other guy had to say, but I have a few objections... I believe in god, but also believe in ghosts... Because once you have wittnessed two in your life if not easy to forget. All the time people say "theres no such thin as ghosts"... Me and my cousin seen the same thing on our grandfathers farm. A white figure running around in circles. Kind of like the Indians did. Guess what there was a indian reservation on his property... hmmm put 2 and 2 together. The farm is haunted. I love learning more about ghosts, and in some of my knowledge they say if someone died a horrid, painful, or grusum death, their sprit lingers on earth?? But who knows. I believe you and I don't think its your imagination! If I were you I would turn to the religion side. Im no pro at this by all means but they say priests can help with that matter...

I think that sometimes entities attach themselves to us for reasons that we don't understand.
If this is worrying you - and it seems to be - then I suggest you see a reputable spiritual healer (or a priest if you're more comfortable with that), and ask their assistance in helping it to detach from you.
They will know what to do to protect you and themselves while this is happening.
Trying to ignore whatever it is - if it bothers you - will just make you feel worse and increasingly powerless.
