I just wanted to know when the traditonal weekend started for a marine... like Friday at 5:00 pm or along that line..

What weekend ? Most positions are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, time off is not Saturday and Sunday weekends on most positions.

There are no "weekends" in the military. You are on call 24/7. However, you do have time/days off depending on your job.

When I did some of my service, I was on a 24 hour on, 48 hours off on one post.

But then there was about a 7 week period we did not get any time off at all.
