I may have sent this email previously today, but had problems when I sent it so I will ask again. I have a two story house built in 1965, with a partial one story roof that is connected along the back section about 3 feet up one wall of the two story. When I was in the one story attic, I noticed that the underside of the tub that is along the back wall upstairs is completely open to the attic heat and cold. This also leaves another inside wall perpendicular to the back wall completely open to the attic with no insulation. My question: Should the underside of the tub be open to the attic for ventilation or is it just an unfinished job that should be closed off and insulated? I would like to close it off and insulate to help on the AC bill, but am worried about moisture build up and possible mold issues. Thank you for your advice.
