Hi,
Why do anaesthetics that are to be administered by inhalation, need to be slightly polar but not very polar.

I'm not an expert in anaesthetics, but my guess is that it needs to be polar enough to be transported in the blood but apolar enough to cross the cell membranes, the myelinated nerves or blood-brain barrier.
