I have a one year daughter. My girlfriend decided she did not want to be involved with me any longer. We have hired individual lawyers and at this point we have joint custody. We also have a custody hearing in June which will determine who will have physical and full custody of the child. She is taking me to court for child support this month. If we both have 50/50 custody am I responsible for paying child support? She is on state run welfare. I pay for the baby's health care under my work and all of her other daily needs. I am employed part time.

Am I responsible to pay child support if custody is 50/50?

It will depend on how your state ( if in the US) figures support, in GA for example, they figure on 50/50, what each person would owe the other, according to the incomes, so the one with the larger income may still have to pay the other on 50/50
I had custody of my son, and since I made so much more than my ex, I still had to pay her a little bit, I had at least 80 percent.
So your attorney should be able to put this into your courts forms and know what the court normal would be owed and by who ( if any is owed)
