I have ice or frost buildup time and again when snowing or air is cold in the intake line of a 58xa080-16 high efficigency furnace. Is there a cure for this problem, as it seems to happen at bad times? Don Farmer

Is your intake pointed down via a 90 degree elbow? The intake should not be friosting up but the exhaust sometimes does

If the intake is located to closely to the exhaust, it will suck in the moisture of the exhuaust and cause freezing of the intake. Best bet is to look over the furnace install instructions and make sure the venting, and combustion air terminations are done correctly.

I'min WI and this happens very frequently with our harsh winters.

There is a product I have found and am using to temporarily solve this problem.
