I am installing a ceiling fan/light fixture with only a remote. From the ceiling I have a red, black, white ad ground. From the ceiling I put the black and white to the receiver input. On the other side I have a black, white, blue green wire. From the receiver to the motor I put the black to black, white to white and blue to blue with the red from ceiling and all grounds are connected. I also have to wall switches running fixture one being a dimmer switch. For some reason the dimmer switch will not dim the light and the remote will not turn the light on or off. Both switches will turn the light on and off. The fan seems to work fine, Don't know what's wrong any help would br great

Lets go back to that first connection and talk about that red. A red/black/white at a ceiling fixture usually means you have two 3 ways switches. Is this ceiling fixtured switched and are there two switches for this fixture?

Yes there are two switches for the fixture one being a dimmer switch. As far as the ceiling fixture there was just a light there when I moved in.

With 2 switches (3 way) you treat the red like the black. Both get connected to the same black wire wire going into the receiver. The red is a traveler and sends power to the ceiling box from the second switch. Coming out of the receiver the black and white go to the fan. The blue and white go to the light kit. Your remote will then power both the light and fan separtely but one of the wall switches must be ON.

Ok I set it up that way red and black from ceiling to the receiver black then
Are you telling me to put both blue from motor and receiver and connect it to both white from motor and receiver?

Fan motor has black and white. Light kit has blue and white. Receiver output is black to fan motor and blue to light kit; you split the white to both.

You wired it correctly, EXCEPT DISCONNECT THE RED FROM THE CEILING AND CAP IT OFF. You CANNOT use the dimmer AND the remote, doing so will burn out the remote.
