I have a judgement that is being renewed against me for a debt that belonged to my now ex-husband. The loan check was written to him but I am being held responsible for it because I worked for the lady at the time of the loan. Can I file a motion to vacate before she garnishes my wages or freezes my accounts? We did go to court and he agreed to pay her back but made two payments and then quit. She recently found me and called and told me what she planned to do to get her money. I told her to do whatever she felt was nescessary because I did not borrow any money from her. What can I do?

Why did you no fight the judgement when it was first in court, since it is being renewed, that means it has to be 10 ( or is that 7 in GA) years old. To have them go back to renew it.

So since you seem to have been aware of the judgement for all this time and never challenged it before, I am not sure the courts will hear it, but you can try.

If you challenged the case in the original court and that court held you liable for the debt, then they will not rehear the same issue a second time.
