My husband installed a new kitchen faucet a year ago. I feel the water pressure was better on the old faucet. I noticed the supply hoses are a smaller gauge than the old ones. Could this be the problem?

Most supply lines are standard and the ends vary from 3/8 to 1/2. I would not say the supply lines are the problem. I would lean more to the type of faucet that he installed. Some brands seem to have different pressures due to the way they were made.

The rigid piping; copper,pex, pvc cpvc... should be at least 1/2" or larger. If he ran 3/8" that could be an issue

Try removing the aerator on the spout and see if the pressure is better with it removed. If it is, clean or replace the aerator. Other than that, fuacet supplys are pretty much standard size(normally 3/8). As suthern mentioned, some fuacets are restricted more than others, so I believe you will just have to adapt to the lower water pressure, or get a different faucet. But definitely check the aerator first. Let us know how things work out.
