Please Help,
I have a problem with my Portable hard drive, yesterday I plug it into my friend computer. The explorer shows 2 new drive (I use 2 partition for my portable drive). The problem is one of the drive name change into Local disk when it should be “New Volume” (the previous name of my portable drive) and I can’t open it. The other drive work perfectly. Then I try to check the Disk Management on My computer>Manage>Disk Management. It shows that all of the drive status is healthy. But the File system of the “Problem” drive is blank while the other show “NTFS”. Do you guys have any idea what happen? And what should I do to fix the problem? Thanks

Did your friend have the same OS and you do ? Switching between Xp and Vista on win based computers is a problem for hard drives as they use different points to access and manage the drives.

We use the same OS (XP). After the problem happen, I quickly tried to open my portable HD in my laptop (OS XP also). The same problem happen. I just don't get it why only one of drive? The other partition is still fine.
