Replaced limit switch because blower motor keeps running and only sometimes shuts down when heat chamber cools down. Is is possible the thermostat is the problem.

You used the terms "heat pump" and "heat chamber". Is this a hybrid/dual-fuel system? Model #s would be really helpful.

No It's an old furnace and heat pump with an emergency setting . My problem is that the blower doesn't always stop and blows cold air after the heat cycle. Sometimes it does shut the blower off, most times it won't. Have already changed the limit switch, could it be in the thermostat? I'm thinking of upgrading to a programmable and hope the blower shuts down like it should. Sorry don't know the Model #

If it is an older gas furnace, it likely has a combination fan/limit control. If this is what was recently replaced, it would seem unlikely that it is the problem. If the heat pump isn't working correctly, the indoor fan may be running continuously because the thermostat demand for heating isn't being met.

This stat is on the emergency heat setting,, not using the heat pump.
