After combining hydrogen sulfide and copper (ii) acetate, I get copper sulfide and 2hc2h3o2 (acetate acid?) . What is the acetate acid? Solid, aqueous?

Your way of writing acetic acid is really weird...

I thought that people wrote it as CH3COOH or C2H4O2...

Anyway, the copper acetate is in solution, hence there is water involved in the reaction, through it does not really actively take part in the reaction. The acetiv acid formed (or ethanoic acid, vinegar) is a solution, hence aqueous.
