Im not sure what is going on. I wasn't supposed to have my period for another week. I had unprotected sex 2 nights in a row for the last two nights, and this morning I woke up bleeding... It's a little heavy, but no cramps.

Was the sex rough? There are mixed schools of thought on implantation bleeding. Personally, in my research and career I have not found that bleeding is actually caused by the implantation of the fertilized egg.

Imagine an egg barely the size of a pencil dot implanting into a large organ such as the uterus. Something this small is not going to cause enough bleeding to even be noticed.

Also, implantation does not occur that quickly. Once ejaculation occurs it can take 3-5 days for the sperm to reach the egg in the fallopian tube, then another 3-5 days for the fertilized ovum to travel down the fallopian tube where it takes another 24-48 hours for implantation to occur completely.

So, with that explanation, if you have had sex for the past two nights, it would be too early for implantation to occur.

It is possible, however, that your period may be early this month, or that the sex was particularly rough.
