I have a copper pipe drain that I need to convert to pvc. My first fitting needs to be a 90 to get onto my copper. Should I use a rubber 90 furlong or sauder a copper 90 and then use a straight rubber fulong to convert to pvc?

I would use the copper 90, but you have to remember I have no idea of what you are trying to do or what it will be used for.

If this is residential plumbing you solder on a male adapter that threads into a female PVC adapter and then glue that to your PVC. Tell us exactly what is your application

Ryan carmichael...

You can use a shielded transition clamp (see image)... order a copper x pvc shielded clamp... found at home supply store or best bet is to go to a local plumbing supply store and get one there. That way, you can be sure you are getting a real shielded clamp... also called a mission clamp or a proflex clamp. These are NOT no-hub clamps. These clamps transition between different pipe types and different pipe sizes. No-hub clamps connect only no-hub pipe.

Otherwise, you'll want to solder a copper FEMALE adapter onto the copper pipe and then install a PVC MALE adapter to make the transiton... ;)
