Hi,

We have just had a new bathroom suite installed. The shower is through a mixer tap and we have a combi boiler. But the water is far too hot. Even when you turn the hot water tap off altogether and just leave the cold on, it stays hot for about a minute before going completely cold. And if you then turn the hot on just a little way, it still goes straight to boiling temperature.

Anyone have any ideas? Did our plumber do something wrong? I have no idea about plumbing... help!

Thanks

I am a Florida plumber. Heating and hot water boiler questions are out of my area of expertise. If your question isn't addressed by another expert in a timely fashion I suggest you repost it over in the heating and AC page.
Thanks for your understanding, Tom

How hot ? If it is hotter than other bath or kitchen, they may hooked it up to the wrong hot water system. This is the way to check( without looking at the connection): run it for a few minute, then have an other person check at the make up water for the boiler or the boiler pressure. If the boiler's pressure drop or make up water is going through, then it is hooking up to the wrong water... the kitchen/ bath water temp is about 130F, but radiator/ baseboard ( comfort heat) water is 150 - 180F
