Ok I don't understand how I'm alive. I am a woman that weighs 120 pounds (of skin and bone that is) and went drinking the other day.

I had more than 10 shots of vodka (yes I know, very stupid) To be honest I don't even remember. I passed out, threw up painfully, got pulled over by the cops (I wasn't driving) I took the breathalizer and my BAC came up as 1.09. (yes for real) All my organs hurt and I couldn't move properly etc, they said I turned pale and bluish. I was hungover for 2 days. Sore in many places and very upset.

Another thing is that everyone in my family has a very low tolerance for alcohol. My mom gets buzzed of non alcoholic wine.

I've looked up the BAC charts and 1.09 is beyond death. Its not even close to being on the chart even for people that weigh more than me.

Can someone tell me how this is possible?

For a start, a breathaliser is not as accurate as a blood count. It's possible that you were not as high as you thought.

But in any case, everyone is different. A bug that kills one person may only give her sister a tummy ache. However, just because you survived in one piece this time does not mean it's a safe thing for you to do. You've given your body a major shock, and doing it again may be too much for it and cause permanent damage.

I would see it as .109, which is drunk but far from dead.

If you were standing and breathing in a machine, you were not at 1. anything

All I remember was it was the worst feeling of my life: I couldn't stand or walk. I was crying and screaming about everything. I had no control of my body. I couldn't feel my legs (or any part of my body for that matter)
