Hi. I had a check I wrote for a payday loan several years ago. This guy says I can pay the cost of the loan $197 or I could pay the company for their services in whole at $402.50 the only payment they will take is either kind they will not take a money order or a check they only want my credit card. I asked them two different days to email me info on their company and they never did. The second time I called I talked to the same guy and he said I had never called him. Then the day I got the first call before I called him a guy called that sounded like the same man saying that he was serving me a summons to court if he didn't get a cease and disist from this guy. Then today I get a letter from a different guy saying the same thing. The guy I talked to from the company told me the check was written in 2002 then 2004 now I get the letter that says it was written in 2001. The guy tells me that it is impossible for someone to serve me with a court summons cause they haven't filed papers to take me to court yet. He couldn't give me the website of the company he told me we are legit just Google our name when I asked him for his company website and contact info. Doesn't this sound like someone is trying to get my credit card #? Also a few years back I went to the payday loan co and offered to pick up the check and they didn't have it. In judicial order I can only be sued up to five years after the actual loan date.
The website that came on the paper was http://www.fcr09inc.com/index2.html which is different from the Federal check recovery website I pulled up on Google at his suggestion which is BS he couldn't tell me what it was in the first place makes me thing someone is going to a lot of trouble to steal my money. The website I pulled up on Google is http://www.fedcheckrecovery.com/
The guy that said he was serving papers was Called Cris Gates (who sounded just like the guy from FCR) Sam
The guy I got this letter from is Peter West and it said I could pay only the 402.50 with certificate funds whatever the heck that is. Never once in the times that I talked to Sam did he offer to let me talk to his supervisor but he did supposedly talk to them for like 10 seconds to ask a question that would take longer than that to ask.

Don't send anyone any money until they can prove you owe them. Sounds like a very elaborate scam to get your credit card # just as you thought. Let them take you to court. From the sounds of your end of the conversation I think they are not legit.

Sam is actually the co-owner of the company. Peter is the other co-owner. Chris is just a collector. They run a very illegitimate debt collection company. I recommend you record any conversation you have with them. In that conversation they will tell you that they are attempting to "SERVE" you. They are not an authorized possess server. They work very hard at sounding official however most of what they say is illegal. Record the call, then report them to the FTC. It's just that simple. Also, a Google map search will give you two addresses, one of which appears to be a house.

Don't listen to creditsux he probably works for them. These people are very crazy and I have reported them to the ftc. They have called me and threatened me. DO not pay them. They can not get you arrested, but do go to www.ftc.gov and report them, REPORT THEM!!
