Is there a time limit where bankruptcy does not show on your records. I declared jointly with my wife in 1988. She has since died and I am in the positioion where I may have to file again for bankruptcy as I have just lost my job. Will this be considered my second time as I am filing alone?
Thanks

It would no longer appear on your credit report. It really is immaterial because you will be asked about any previous filings when you complete the Affidavits.

Yes, it's the second time you've filed.

Yes, this is considered your second time. Seeing as how your first one was in 1988 you will be okay to file again as it's been more than 7 years since your last filing.

It is your second time, but as long as you are past the time frame ( and you are) you may file
