I have a Motorola Q Smart phone with Windows Mobile. I looked up an algorithem for a new pswd and forgot it! I annot rick resetting the phone and losing my information. Is there any external device I can purchase to safely retrieve the pswd? Please!

Not Usually. Usually with passwords you have to do a hard reset. But luckily with the Moto Q, you should be able to back up your info before doing do. You can search in your phone for the option to reset passwords to manufactures passwords. But I have only seen this on one phone.
