I have a "Bryant" central air heating system for an apartment. I have been renting here for five years and never had a problem, until this winter, I noticed that the heat is not blowing as warm as it use to. When the heat comes on, it blows cold air for four minutes before it starts to finally warm up. My landlord came and cleaned something that had gotten clogged up from the filter shifting to the right, and not filtering properly on the left. However, that didn' t help the long cycle of cold air before it finally comes out warm. Why is it doing this, what can I do about it?

Since you are in an apartment your landlord is responsible as you are well aware of. The time delay circuit is probably defective in the furnace. This is what is causing the blower to come on to soon (as in no delay on the blower). I suggest you mention this to your landlord and have him do the repair or you could contact a local HVAC company and PAY for them to repair it.

BTW a time delay circuit is usually part of or built in the heat sequencer control for the electric heaters. Different units can use different parts to control the delay also.
