My 95 civic quits when it gets hot I checked the plug wires and I think it might be the distributor but I'm not sure.

If the CEL comes on and goes off after 2 seconds, when the ignition switch is turned to ON (Position II), then I would replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil:

If the problem persists, install your new ICM and coil in a new genuine Honda distributor housing. Over 50% of new aftermarket distributors, at AMHD, have not worked.

There are a lot of causes like a damage head gasket, a worned thermostat or you need to replace the water pump.
