Doesn't work like that.
P=IR so rearrange from there.

You need to know two things to get the third. It's watts divided by volts to get amps. There is a fourth variable, but that is not used very much in everyday things, which is ohms.

Here is a pretty good page I found Googling: Electrical & Electronics, Ohm's Law, Formulas & Equations (http://www.angelfire.com/pa/baconbacon/page2.html)

Oops, it's

P = IV

or are you confusing it with:

V = IR

? ;)

Simplest example I can think of is:

Amp = Watts / Voltage

1 amp = 1 watt /1 volt

or an actual problem:

A = W/V = A = 1800 /120 = 15 Amps = 1800 Watts / 120 Volts
