Hi,

I had been studying in California in 07,08 and I graduated in Dec 08. I started my job in Wisconsin in June 09 and worked on OPT (F1 visa) till October after then I was on a H1-B. I was not paying Social and Medicare on OPT (F1) as it was not required. And started paying them after OCT once my visa switched.

1) Previously I was filling by federal taxes from a Non Resident form. Do I have still continue doing the same? Or can I E-file it online this year?

2) Since mine is a very simple tax return with just 1 W2 do I really need to go to CPA?

3) My company paid for my relocation which is reflected in my W2. Is it all right if I claim more than that? The TurboTax suggested that since my own relocation estimate was not that high no point going for itemized deductions.

1. If you did not complete 5 years on F-1/OPT, you will file nonresident tax return for 2009 except if you are married. It can not be efiled.
2. You can do it yourself. If you need professional help, contact AtlantaTaxExpert [email protected]
