Hi,
I came to US on H1b since April 09 and was living in NJ but working in NY. Then I moved to NY in July. I have been working at the same place. I was working part time till Dec 09. So what all deductions do I qualify for? Moving? Do I have to go to a agent to file my taxes or can I file it online? I am single not married, no dependants.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
PKB

You will file Dual Status tax return. You can not claim moving expenses to move from NJ to NY as you were always working at the same place. You can claim moving expenses from your country to the U.S. Your U.S. Tax Return: Moving Expenses (http://taxipay.blogspot.com/2008/02/moving-expenses.html)
