Girlfiend and I had a huge row which invloved the police, I never hit her I broke a few things in house and now she don't want nothing to do with me, she knows I been under lot of stress due to parents health but she is ignoring all my phone calls and texts, should I give her a bit of space to calm down or do I walk away

You better leave her alone, and I suggest you get whatever help you need to deal with your issues, and find much better ways to deal with your stress.

Sooner, rather than later!! Then worry about your relationships, AFTER you have solved your own problems.

As for your girlfriend,or ex,take a hint and leave her alone.

Get yourself in line. Deal with your issues. She may come back if she believes you have changed... but I wouldn't hedge my bets.
