Can a virus show things in my history that I didn't visit

A virus can make your computer go to sites. What exactly is happening ?

It is possible to be redirected by a virus (going to a porn site when you typed google.com in the address bar) and though I can not think of a virus off hand that rewrites your browser history I would believe it to be for sure possible and very likely that one exist. For Windows systems keeping your system up to date by running updates on a weekly basis and making sure that your anti virus programs update daily is a must. Most computers infected are infected through exploits that have been patched however the operator has not applied the patch.
