My husband is an over-the-road trucker, he is gone 2 or 3 months at a time, he currently wants me to sell his car, I have the title, signed, I also have an interested party wanting to buy it-- the problem lies where I don't have a notary who would certify it without him being here... what should I do? Is this a problem?? Will the other party be able to transfer the title without it being notorized?? In NC and confused

Notary? Does your state require that, I have sold dozens and dozens of cars, normally in the evening in my dining room, no notory on any of them. I sign, and hand it to the person buying and they sign it , I require a receipt and bill of sale we both sign and I keep a copy ( if they don't register it)

But if it requires him to notorise where he signs, you will have to mail if possible or have him sign it again in front of a notory,

If your state requires a notary you may have to overnight title to your husband. He can stop at bank to have it notarized and overnight it back to you.
