Why is it important for you to record your debit card uses in your checkbook register

Because it is the same as writing a check: when you write a check, you debit (subtract) the money from your checking account. This same thing happens when you use your debit card, only instantly. If you don't record it, you may forget that you spent the money... and end up withdrawn.

It is always good to keep track of all money that enters and leaves your account.
