Got caught shoplifting, was given a ticket. I'm over 18. Live in Southern California. Will I have a record now? If not will it ever show up on any background checks for employment?

This is a "maybe" was it merely a city ticket written as a citation for a city ordiance or was the "ticket" used to set your court date.

If you were convicted of a misdemeanor ( or plead guilty) yes it will show up, in some cases minor tickets issues in city court do not show up.
